A Zipadee-Zip mystery sale sends a surprise print in poly or cotton blend, no fleece. Here's what boy and girl boxes include and how to decide if it's worth it.
Quick answer
A Zipadee-Zip mystery sale gives you a surprise print from the poly or cotton blend collections at a lower price than a standard print. Boy and girl versions are separate listings, and fleece is never included.
Why the print is a surprise, not a defect
The mystery format exists because prints rotate by season. Instead of listing every past or current pattern individually, the sale lets the warehouse send whatever poly or cotton print is on hand. You are not choosing a design; you are choosing a size and a boy or girl listing.
That means the print you receive may come from a current or previous season. It is still the same Zipadee-Zip construction and fabric blend, just without the ability to pick the pattern.
What boy and girl boxes actually change
The two listings are not different products. Both are Zipadee-Zip swaddle transition bags in poly or cotton blend, and both exclude fleece. The boy and girl labels simply guide which print assortment the warehouse pulls for your order.
If you are shopping for a baby whose wardrobe is not strictly gendered, either listing will work. The practical difference is the print style you are more likely to receive, not the fit or fabric.
When a mystery box is a poor fit
Skip the mystery sale if you need a specific print to match a nursery theme, if you require fleece for cold-room sleep, or if you are buying a gift and cannot risk a pattern the recipient may not love. In those cases, choose a known print or a fleece Zipadee-Zip instead.
Also check the size chart before ordering. Because the print is fixed, an exchange for a different design is not part of the mystery format.
Mystery sale questions answered
- What exactly is in a mystery sale?
- One Zipadee-Zip in a surprise print from the poly or cotton blend collections. The print may be current or previous season, and fleece is excluded.
- Should I choose the boy or girl box?
- Choose the listing that matches the print style you prefer for the baby. Both are the same Zipadee-Zip product in poly or cotton blend, so the choice affects the print assortment, not the fit.
- Can I request a specific print or fleece?
- No. The mystery format does not let you pick a print, and fleece is not part of either the boy or girl box. If you need a specific pattern or fleece warmth, buy a standard listing instead. If a specific print or fleece is non-negotiable, the mystery sale is the wrong product.
- Is the mystery box a good gift?
- It can be a fun lower-cost gift if the recipient is open to a surprise print. Avoid it if you know the nursery theme or the baby's cold-room sleep needs require a specific look or fabric.
- How do I pick the right size?
- Use the standard Zipadee-Zip size chart for the baby's current weight and height. The mystery sale does not change sizing, and the surprise print does not affect fit.
