Compare the Sloth, Baby Bear, Blue Whales, and Woodlands Zippy Swaddle prints, check sizing for large, and pick the right pattern for your baby's sleep routine.
Quick answer
Choose the print that fits your baby's room and your laundry rotation, then focus on size and the rolling-over milestone. All four Zippy Swaddle prints—Sloth in a Tree, Baby Bear, Blue Whales, and Woodlands—share the same safe-sleep design, so the pattern is a style decision, not a safety one.
What actually differs between the prints
The catalog describes each Zippy Swaddle with the same core features: a cozy embrace, hand-movement control to prevent startle wakes, and a design based on AAP safe-sleep recommendations. The prints—Sloth in a Tree, Baby Bear, Blue Whales, and Woodlands—are the visible difference. That means you can pick based on nursery theme, gift appeal, or how often you expect to wash and rotate swaddles, without worrying that one pattern is safer than another.
One practical exception: the Woodlands Zippy Swaddle is listed at USD 34.99, while the other three are USD 26.24 (compared with USD 34.99). If budget matters, the Sloth, Baby Bear, and Blue Whales prints give you the same functional design at a lower catalog price. If Woodlands is your favorite, treat the higher price as a style premium rather than a feature upgrade.
Size and the rolling-over rule
Every Zippy Swaddle record lists Size as the only available option, so the print does not change the fit. The catalog also states clearly: do not use the swaddle once your baby starts to show signs of rolling over. That milestone, not the pattern, is the real deadline for any swaddle purchase.
If you are shopping for a larger baby, the Blue Whales print is explicitly named 'Large' in the product title, which makes it the clearest starting point for a zippy swaddle size large search. For the other prints, check the size selector on each product page; the catalog does not list a separate size chart here, so confirm the available sizes before ordering.
Print choice as a laundry and gifting decision
Because all prints share the same construction, the most useful buying strategy is to treat prints as a rotation. Two or three different patterns make it easy to tell a clean swaddle from one headed to the wash, and they help you spot spit-up or leaks sooner. A single print is fine if you wash frequently, but a multi-print set reduces middle-of-the-night guesswork.
For gifts, the animal themes—Sloth in a Tree, Baby Bear, and Blue Whales—are easy to match to a nursery or baby-shower theme. Woodlands suits a neutral, nature-inspired nursery. None of these are safety features, so let the recipient's taste decide.
Decision rules for picking a Zippy Swaddle print
- Start with the rolling-over rule: If your baby is already showing signs of rolling over, do not buy any Zippy Swaddle print. Move to a sleep option designed for rolling babies instead. Check for rolling signs before you compare prints.
- Match the print to your nursery, not to safety: Pick Baby Bear or Sloth in a Tree for a warm animal theme, Blue Whales for a cool nautical look, or Woodlands for a neutral nature theme. All four share the same AAP-based design and hand-movement control.
- Use price as a tiebreaker: If two prints appeal equally, the Baby Bear, Blue Whales, and Sloth in a Tree prints are listed at USD 26.24, while Woodlands is USD 34.99. Choose Woodlands only if you prefer that print enough to pay the difference. Set a budget before you fall for a print.
- Confirm size before checkout: Every print lists Size as the only option. For a large size, start with the Blue Whales Large listing, then check the size selector on the other prints if you want a different pattern in the same size. The print does not change the fit—verify the size selector on each product page.
